Politics

I'm trying very hard to stay apolitical as possible. Something occurred in me this morning, it just hit me, why I don't really know but anyway... This is the golden hour of campaigning and political wills. Think back when the last two presidents (Bush and Clinton) were on the campaign trail for their first run at the presidency. They had these great visions and starry eyed ideas.

Then the reality set in as they got elected and they had to cut back, or settle with congress, or set up, down, and/or around political lines. I don't think it really matters who gets elected. And if you think it does, then just play wait and see, because no matter which person you like, they (the other side) will find something to dig up on the guy. How much or how bad remains to be seen, but they will, they always do.

I'll sit back and watch. Maybe with some popcorn or maybe crying as my 401k crumbles into nothing. And it will happen again and again and again. Just sit... and ...wait.

You are absolutely right, MH. It doesn't matter who gets elected - neither one has a plan to take us back from the brink of fiscal disaster, they are too busy playing sides. The one candidate who told the people the truth was dissed into oblivion. People get the representation they deserve, ask for, fight for, even beg for.

That's why last year I got out of the stock market and cashed everything in... There are those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened. There will be those who will vote adamantly and insistently for either the 'status quo' or 'change' - they are the latter group; are the ones who have not bothered to educate themselves on what is really going on in the world and this country - and who will be standing openmouthed and stunned when it all falls down... while their Chosen One is left to cover up like a cat on a tile floor.

"Don't worry, it won't be that bad, so-and-so will save us" - yeah, right, ok, whatever. Everyone has the right to ignore facts and history and believe whatever makes them feel better. I got tired of playing Cassandra to the masses who choose passion over intelligence over and over again. Shrug.

Big Smile! It will all be ok! Really! SOMEone will save us from ourselves!
